Weekly Update: April 9-15

Hello hello! This week has been quite hectic, so I am ages behind on reading. I'm still plugging away at Dune... Hopefully I'll be done with that one soon, because I'm really looking forward to moving on with my life (and my tbr). I also need to finish reading it so I can get to Anna Karenina and Winter before they're due at the library. Feeling rushed to read books because of library due dates is hands down the worst feeling.

But on a happier note, I went on a lovely trip to Barnes and Noble today. This store was like a bookish paradise. There were two floors!!! and an escalator. I ended up leaving with The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood (bookstagram made me do it) and You'll Be the Death of Me by Karen M. McManus. I'm really looking forward to The Love Hypothesis. I've heard nothing but good things about it, and it seems like the kind of fluffy romance that I can power through in a couple sittings. All things considered, Barnes and Noble was a good time.

Anyway, here's the upcoming week-and-a-half-ish TBR (which is looking very similar to last week's...):

  • Dune by Frank Herbert
    • Honestly, don't talk to be about this book anymore. *insert crying emoji* I've been reading it for like a month.
  • Winter by Marissa Meyer
    • So many mixed feelings... please let it be good.
  • Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
    • This book is gigantic, and I have a horrible feeling that it's going to end up being kind of slow, so I'm not really looking forward to it. Sad times.
  • The Sunken City by Emma V. R. Noyes
    • I received this one as a digital ARC, and I am absolutely stoked to read it. It's got an absolutely gorgeous cover as well.
As far as blog posts go, I've been working on a post about my favorite tropes. That'll be out on Thursday. It's a tad unconventional in my opinion, so I'm interested to see what you all think.

On the non-bookish side of life, I'm absoutely itching for a chance to start season 2 of Bridgerton when I have some free time. (Free time? Who's she?) But things are about to get more crazy and hectic with Easter and finals, so who knows when I'll have time to do anything enjoyable again... *sad awkward laughs*

That's all for this week! I hope you're all doing good. :)

Sending happy thoughts, good vibes, and chapters that don't end in cliffhangers!

Love,

Gurlaffe
