Weekly Update: April 23-29
Happy Saturday! I am in an extra good mood right now because it's supposed to be 77 outside later today. Perfect outside reading weather!
I'm still behind-as-ever on my reading plans, but hopefully that will start to be reconciled this weekend. My review for Winter should be out today. It definitely took much longer than expected for me to read that one. It looks unsuspecting, but it's actually 823 pages. Crazy. I also got a little farther into The Sunken City, and I have a really good feeling about it. Fahrenheit 451 was finally available for checkout on Thursday as well. I think I'm in good shape for powering through at least Winter and The Sunken City this weekend, and I can probably get a good start on Fahrenheit 451 as well.
As far as the blog side of things goes, I posted on Thursday about my must-buy authors. Things are getting chaotic now that it's show week for theater, so I probably won't be able to put any other posts out this week besides reviews. I'll be busy operating a spotlight for a total of ten seconds and lurking around the lighting box with the rest of the tech people. However, I do have a mildly exciting Instagram post planned for Monday about a May book challenge!
I'm super excited about this week's tbr again. It's also the last week before my April Recap, so I hope I can get through these and actually have something to talk about. I feel like I wasted two weeks of my life trying to get through Dune and read nothing else in April. Anyway, here's the tbr:
- The Sunken City by Emma V. R. Noyes
- This is literally so good, and I can't wait to review it.
- Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
- I guess this book is supposed to be kind of like George Orwell's 1984. I'm really hoping it lives up to the hype.
- Prodigy by Marie Lu
- When I read Legend, I basically holed up for two days and devoured it. I'm willing to bet that Prodigy will be like that. Plus, I'm looking forward to diving back into Marie Lu's dystopian America again.
That's all for this week! Sending happy thoughts, good vibes, and chapters that don't end in cliffhangers!
Love,
Gurlaffe
