Monthly Recap: April 2022

Happy May everyone! I've had a pretty rocky month when it comes to reading, which I mainly attribute to my trying and failing to read the oh-too-gigantic book Dune. Since then, though, I feel like I've been on a roll when it comes to reading. The future is bright though, because next month is when school gets out and I'll have free time again.

Without further adieu here is a recap of my April books!

Legend by Marie Lu - This book was just okay. I'm still not quite sure what to think of this series, so I'm excited to be starting Prodigy. (3/5)

Dune by Frank Herbert- I DNFed this because I had to return it to the library. Simply too many pages to be allowed. (DNF)

Winter by Marissa Meyer- Thank goodness for this book getting me out of a massive reading slump and back into my flow of reading. It was incredible. (4/5)

The Sunken City by Emma V. R. Noyes- I got this one as an ARC, and although I had some critiques, it was satisfactory overall. (4/5)

I'm feeling a tad disappointed with this short list considering the ambitious tbrs that I posted each week. *shrug*

Onto a more exciting topic, Massive Book May starts today, and yes, folks, I am finally going to read Anna Karenina. Who knows how this will go. If you're interested in taking on this challenge with me, check out my Instagram post from Monday! It'll be a good time.

Speaking of May, it's Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! In honor of that, I'm going to scout out some books by or about Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans. I'll probably post my findings on Instagram when I have a chance too. It's a great opportunity to expand my pallet, support the AAPI community, and add new names to my shelves!

Seeing no further topics on my agenda, that wraps up this month. Sending happy thoughts, good vibes, and chapters that don't end in cliffhangers!

Love,

Gurlaffe
